WHY IT EXISTS
A smaller active monitor can be a very serious surround or height channel.

8351B combines Genelec’s coaxial point-source approach, internal amplification and GLM calibration in a cabinet much smaller than many traditional reference cinema speakers.

In a large active system it can be particularly useful for surrounds and heights, while smaller cinemas may use it for LCR as well.

SYSTEM ROLE

Where it fits in a cinema.

01

Surrounds

High output and controlled directivity in a compact cabinet.

02

Height channels

Can be used where the room can physically support an enclosed active monitor overhead.

03

Smaller LCR

Suitable where 8361A scale is unnecessary.

ROOM DESIGN
Choose the room conditions before choosing the quantity.
Power and signalEvery active location needs both.
Mounting safetyOverhead active monitors require robust engineered mounting.
GLMLevel, delay and room compensation should be managed as one system.
