SAM / GLM
8361A, 8351B and other Smart Active Monitors combine internal amplification with GLM calibration for level, delay and room-response management.
Two distinct active architectures: SAM monitors calibrated with GLM, and Smart IP installation speakers carrying Dante/AES67 audio, management and PoE power over Ethernet.
ACTIVE REFERENCE
Genelec lets us consider cinema architecture from the opposite direction to a conventional passive system. Instead of selecting a central amplifier channel for every loudspeaker, the amplification and protection live at the speaker.
That creates two compelling routes: SAM / GLM for precision monitoring-based cinemas, and Smart IP for installation systems designed around network audio and structured cabling.

4410A, 4420A, 4430A and 4435A receive Dante/AES67 network audio and PoE power, with setup through Smart IP Manager.
The two ecosystems are not interchangeable. Signal transport, power, management software and processor interfacing need to be resolved before final cabling.
Audio, management and PoE power over a single CAT cable can materially change how a room is wired. The 4430A and in-ceiling 4435A are especially interesting for surround and immersive applications.
They are both active Genelec platforms, but the power, signal and management architecture is different enough that the decision should be made before final cabling.
Product ranges and network capabilities change. Confirm current model data, software and installation requirements before final specification.
